There are so many opportunities to get involved at Coral Reef with the PTA!  Volunteering on a committee is a great way to serve the students of Coral Reef and to get to know other parents at the school.  A sign-up sheet for 2016-17 Committees will be coming home soon.   Committees in need of volunteers immediately include:

Get Fit CRE is moving to the Fall this year, and will be PTA’s biggest fundraiser  The  focus is on exercise and a healthy lifestyle, while raising money for our school. Committee members will take on tasks prior to and on the day of the event. Such as kick-off assembly, getting t-shirt sponsors, distributing prizes, serving water, setup track, organizing students during activities.
Members Needed: Approx 20
When: September - October

This is a wonderful, fun family favorite, featuring games, music, food,  a pumpkin decorating contest, and lots of good memories to be made. Dozens of committee members will be needed, and will help with all the many aspects of organizing the event:, ticket sales, organizing food, coordinating student volunteers, and helping during the festival to make our big event a success. 
Members needed: CHAIR and 10-15, plus teen volunteers
When: October (planning starts in Sept.)

Fun Fair is our biggest community event of the year!  It includes games, rides, a silent auction, food trucks, and much more  This committee may be subdivided depending on the type of event and fundraiser (for example, chair for rides, chair for auction items, and chair for the classroom games, chair for food vendors, chair for redemption booth). Committee members may be asked to assist with decoration, securing auction items, communication and advertisement, corresponding with local businesses, and organizing activities at school. 
Members Needed: Minimum 20
When: March

This committee advocates the health and wellness, both physically and emotionally to our students
through a variety of programs and initiatives.  Members are needed for a number of jobs, such as to help maintain recess bins, decorate bulletin board in cafeteria, chair a new yoga club (possibly 15 min session before school one day a week).
Members Needed: 6 or more
When: Year-Long

Committee members will assist merchandise chair and help sell t-shirts, bumper stickers, and other CRE merchandise throughout the year.  
Members Needed: 4-6

The audit committee will work together to process and audit the CRE PTA financials.
Members needed: 3 or more

Every Kid Healthy™ Week is an annual observance created to celebrate school health and wellness achievements and recognized on the calendar of National Health Observances. 
Members needed: CHAIR plus approx 10 members
When: April (planning begins in Feb)

CRE Talent Show encourages the talent of our wonderful students and showcases them. Members needed to screen, plan, produce, sell drinks/snacks during the event.
Members Needed: 10-20
When: Late Spring

CRE on the Run is a student running club, operated and paid for by CRE PTA. Run Club meets on Friday afternoons, and has more than 180 students participate  Committee members help plan meeting activities, escort students from their classrooms, make and distribute ID badges, and organize the sale of Run Club t-shirts.
Volunteers Needed:  20-30
When: Year-Long

These committee members will assist our school counselor, Mrs. Sirota, to seek out community members and parents who will come speak to students on Career Day.  We have approx 50 classrooms, and our goal is that every class has a minimum of two speakers.  Members will also help create the schedule for speakers.
Members Needed: 2-4
When: January

The hospitality committee will be responsible for setting up food and decorations for various events, such as teacher appreciation breakfasts and/or lunches, Career Day, PTA general meetings, and throughout the school year.
Members needed:  6-10
When: Year-Long

New this year to CRE! All Pro Dad’s Day provides an opportunity for dads to spend quality time with their children that will strengthen their relationship, as well as benefiting the child’s school and the entire community.  One day each month is a breakfast where dads are invited to eat with their children.  The team captain will lead in discussions and activities.
