The Skeegie Science and Nature Academy

The Skeegie Science Academy, named after J.B. "Skeegie" Cash a little boy who was kidnapped and murdered in Dade County in 1938.  The family started a foundation in his name and has donated money to our PTA over the years.  Last year they donated $40,000.00.  We have used their money to honor him in two ways: we enhanced the security system at our school and started the Science Academy. Since his playground was the outdoors our children will honor his memory by learning from the program we hired, Nature Postings.  We are working on a contact to secure them through 2018 with existing funds. Every homeroom will have an hour long lesson at our Outdoor Classroom through the Skeegie Science Academy.
